Dr. Ryan is a distinguished prosthodontist and Army veteran with a passion for clinical excellence and patient care. A graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. Lauderdale, he went on to study Molecular and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in 2014 and immediately began his service in the United States Army Dental Corps.
Dr. Ryan’s military career began at Fort Lewis, where he completed a 1-Year Advanced Education in General Dentistry, gaining advanced training in clinical dentistry and applied basic sciences across all dental specialties. He was then selected for Airborne School at Fort Benning and subsequently assigned to Fort Bragg, where he served as the Dental Surgeon for the 82nd Airborne 2nd Brigade Combat Team. In addition to his clinical duties, he was the Role II Field Hospital Triage Officer and earned the prestigious Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB), an award recognizing exceptional competence and performance in warrior and medical tasks such as Tactical Combat Casualty Care. The EFMB is one of the Army’s most difficult skill badges to earn, with a pass rate of less than 18%.
In 2017, Dr. Ryan was accepted into the Army Prosthodontic Program at Fort Gordon, where he specialized in complex rehabilitations, implants, and digital dentistry. He completed the program in 2020 as a Major, earning a master’s degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences for his research on long-span zirconia fixed partial dentures under cyclic fatigue. His master’s thesis was later published in the Journal of Prosthodontics. In 2021, Dr. Ryan achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Prosthodontics, a rigorous four-part certification process recognizing exceptional expertise and skill in prosthodontics. He was then selected to teach at Fort Campbell’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry, mentoring residents in prosthodontics while also serving as an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University Postgraduate Dental College.
Dr. Ryan has a special interest in treating sleep-disordered breathing and dental sleep medicine. As someone who suffers from obstructive sleep apnea himself, he is passionate about helping others through oral appliance therapy, which he has been practicing for over seven years. He achieved Diplomate status from the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, the gold standard for excellence in the field, demonstrating his expertise in managing obstructive sleep apnea with non-invasive treatments.
After completing his Army service, Dr. Ryan joined Coello Dentistry as a Prosthodontist and continues to serve as a Major in the Florida Army National Guard. He is happily married to his college sweetheart, Nicole Reed-Hudson Coello, and they have three children: Elias Grant, Amelia Reed, and Nina Marie. In his free time, Dr. Ryan enjoys exploring Florida with his family, embracing all the state has to offer.

Approximately 12 years ago, I was a happy patient at Coello Family Dental Practice. I left Boca for a few years and upon returning, I decided to return to their practice, only to discover that Dr. Coello had retired. It was recommended that I consult with Dr. Ryan Coello, who, along with his brother, Dr. Anthony, had assumed the family practice. Dr. Ryan, with his advanced degrees as a prosthodontist and extensive military experience, was deemed the most qualified to diagnose and treat my condition.
