Dr. Ryan Coello

Dr. Ryan graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. Lauderdale. He attended the University of Central Florida where he majored in Molecular and Microbiology. Dr. Ryan, received his Dental Degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in 2014 and he headed directly to serve in the United States Army Dental Corps.

Once in the Army, Dr. Ryan began his career at Fort Lewis. It was there he completed a 1-Year Advanced Education in General Dentistry where he received advanced training in clinical dentistry and applied basic sciences for all dental specialties.
He was then selected to go to Airborne School at Fort Benning with a follow-on assignment to Fort Bragg to be the 82nd Airborne 2nd Brigade Combat Team Dental Surgeon. It was there he served as the 2nd Brigade Combat Team Dental Surgeon and as the Role II Field Hospital Triage Officer. While at Fort Bragg he obtained the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB), a special skill award for recognition of exceptional competence and outstanding performance in warrior and medical tasks such as Tactical Combat Casualty Care. Historically, the EFMB pass rate is below 18% making the EFMB one of the most difficult and prestigious Army special skill badges to earn.

In 2017, he was accepted into the Army Prosthodontic Program at Fort Gordon, Ga where he honed his skills in complex rehabilitations, implants, and digital dentistry. He graduated in 2020 as a Major and received his masters degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences for his work on long span zirconia fixed partial dentures under cyclic fatigue. His masters thesis was later published in the prestigious Journal of Prosthodontics. Dr. Ryan earned his Diplomate status of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a board certification, in 2021. This is a rigorous four-part examination conducted by the American Board of Prosthodontics aimed at identifying clinicians who have demonstrated knowledge, skill, and values of an individual worthy of board certification. He was selected to teach at Fort Campbell’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry serving as the prosthodontic mentor while also serving as an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University Postgraduate Dental College.

Dr. Ryan has a keen enjoyment for the treatment of sleep disordered breathing in dental sleep medicine. As a person who suffers from obstructive sleep apnea, he believes this is one of the best opportunities in dentistry to truly change the lives of patients. He has been treating obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy for the past 7 years and obtained diplomate status from the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dentists who are Diplomates of the ABDSM have demonstrated that they have the skills and knowledge essential for the delivery of excellent patient care with oral appliance therapy. The ABDSM diplomate status is widely recognized as the gold standard for excellence in dental sleep medicine.

After his Army commitment, Dr. Ryan returned home to join Coello Dentistry as a Prosthodontist. He continues to serve as a Major in the Florida Army National Guard.
Dr. Ryan is married to his college sweetheart, Nicole Reed-Hudson Coello and has three beautiful children, Elias Grant, Amelia Reed, and Nina Marie. Dr. Ryan likes to spend his free time with his family exploring all that Florida has to offer.
